David Hoptman is a Fine Art and Commercial Photographer now living in Santa Fe NM. David has been involved with teaching Photography for many years having a long resume of teaching venues in the USA and in Italy at the Lorenzo De Medici University in Florence. David is currently teaching Digital Photography at the Santa Fe University of Art and Design.
Most important for anyone wanting to learn about Photography is to enjoy the Creative Process! Knowing that people who sign up for photographic workshops all have things in common that they want to learn more about the art form and get better technically at using their camera’s and to gain a better understanding of how digital technology can help them become better at making strong and eloquent imagery.
Depending on whether you choose to take a half or full day workshop will determine locations. This workshop is open to all skill levels. There is plenty of time during workshops for me to work with each and every participant regarding Composition, Digital Media, Lens and Camera Techniques including Flash Fill, HDR etc. Locations can vary from Chimayo, Galesteo, Cerrillos, Tent Rocks, the High Road to Taos, Abiquiu as well as Santa Fe The City Different. There are also some interesting Native American ruins to tour and photograph as well as Ceremonial dances at the nearby Pueblos depending on the season.
Santa Fe is a great destination spot; a wonderful place to kick back, spend some time checking out the Gallery Scene, Music on the Plaza in the Summer months and the southwest cuisine is always enjoyable! I guarantee it will be a great Photo-Cultural learning experience that you won’t soon forget!
